October Surprise(s)

Arkansas Critter
So yeah, It's been a while since I did a blog post. About a month ago is more like it. I always seem to have things in my life that get in the way of things I want to do. The beginning of the month of October I helped my friend Dave W. from work with moving. I drove his truck down to where he retired to in Arkansas, he left earlier in the morning with a U-haul. This is the same Dave W. that I had a bit of a man crush on for quite a long time. He was a very difficult guy to get to know. He doesn't open easily and is a very private man. It took me about 5 years to even get invited into his house. After he retired I didn't tell him how I feel about him. I don't think he's that interested in guys the way I am.

Dave says he has many women he knows around the country and goes on bike rides with. And in his new home in Arkansas, he has a neighbor lady he said friended on F/B.
Dave W. Just Friends, Not Partners Also a big surprise in October , my sister that lives in Brazil got into a nasty car crash on a dark rain-slicked road. She told me she was driving, a thing fell from an overhead bin. It knocked off her glasses, she reached down to get them from the floor board. When she sat back up, a vehicle was stopped ahead of her and hit it doing 45mph (70kmh). The crash through her on the passenger side floor. But not before Beth hit her head on the windshield. She suffered a concussion and was seeing double, throwing up, etc. her female partner was P/Oed. Told my sister to get out ASAP and wouldn't take her to a hospital. It took more than a couple of days to find out she is OK and she might stay in Brazil after all. Now she says she needs $2000 to pay the deductible of the so-called Brazilian car insurance. All of this drama has more than took the wind out of my sails about flying to Brazil and visit my sister.                                     And of course work always being work wanted me to work a lot more hours. The past month I worked about 55to 60 hours a week. So not much me time. I'd still like to do a blog post at least once a week, I just need the discipline myself and do it.

    1. Hi Spo, I don't know what it was about my friend Dave. I was attracted to him the moment I met him. I don't really have a type, if I like you I like you. He might come back to NE for Thanksgiving. If he stops by my place to visit I might have a talk with him. I do like to be just friends if nothing else. We'll have to see.

    1. Hi Andy, Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. That BTW isn't my friend back deck. Still we thought it was funny.

  4. Since you don't have to work with him and you probably won't see him much now anyway with him living in another state, what's the harm in letting him know how you feel? What's the worst case scenario if he isn't receptive to the advance?

I hope your sister is on the mend by now. Wow about her partner....bad times do bring out the worst in some people and better she found out now rather than later what this gal is truly made of. I know you'll be there if she needs you. I wouldn't put off any plans to go to visit her in Brazil over this....unless you think she may want to move state side to live and she'll need your assistance then to go over and help with relocating.

Do something for you and stop all that excessive working, ya hear me? ;-)

  5. Hi Sluggy, I'm terrible at keeping in contact with people aren't I? Yes I know I was thinking the same thing. Dave had said he was coming back to Nebraska to have Thanksgiving with his sibs. I asked if he was in the area to stop by and see me. Time will tell if he does. I plan on having a little talk if and when he drops by. Oh and my sister is doing better, from what she tells my still plan on taking a trip to Brazil next year. I just hope 2017 is year that works out for me. Thanks!

    1. Yeah, I hope 2017 is better for me too. Maybe I'll get out West finally next year since it didn't work out this year. We all have challenges, don't we?
      Hugs!

  6. Randy,
I am convinced that one of these days when you least expect it, that person will come into your life which will make all your sacrifices seem worth it. And when that happens I expect you to write about it, every detail (smile).
