Pet Peeves Brain Puke

It doesn't seem like it but the last time I posted was back on May 1. It's not that I didn't want to, I have a serious personality flaw. Life, work, family, local problems overload my mind. So when I get home I just want to chill and veg. Other times I feel the muse is not upon me. But lucky for me I work the overnight shift at work and haven't followed the news or prime time TV for 20+ years. Now for my pet peeves, earlier this year when I was scoping a guy out to try and see it I could be more than just friends. Maybe something more B-BF/partner??? He now has himself a GF and we haven't crossed paths once. For once I glad I didn't seriously through myself out there. Could get kind of messy being in a small town, were him and I know the same people. I have two others guys I'd like to know better but hesitate from doing so. One right now is just an acquaintance, I'll call him Roy K. I see him around town from time to time. He always has a smile for me when we pass on the street. I'm just not sure about him, but he looks nice in sleeveless T-shirt and tight blue jeans! The other guy I've had a thing for about 20 years, his name is Dave W. We work for the same company I do, just in a different department. I see him almost every day and only in the last 5 years have gotten to be closer friends with him. I'd like to let him know how I feel about him, but if it went bad it would be very uncomfortable at work indeed. Good news is he is retiring at the end of this year and moving away, or is that bad news. If he wants to be more than just good friends, he'll be 500 miles away, he's retiring down south. :-(
My Condition At The Moment.                                                     Now For a brain puke! some of the people I work with proclaim to be very good Christians really just ask them. You can tell who they are because they'll have stickers on the back windows of their vehicles of this church or organisation or for a Christian radio station. Some of them listen to books or the "good music" in their eyes on their CD or Mp3 players. But they are some of the nastiest, miserable, mean people to be around. There is one guy that on occasion likes to tell me how to do my job, he's in a different department and just another employee.                                                      Now I should be appalled but really I'm more amused, in the break room. someone will bring a newspaper and if there is a story LGBT is talked about the sheer ignorance discussed is astounding!  Also as the subject, I mentioned before so-called Christian radio stations.  They seem to be popping up all over here in the Midwest. On the bottom of the FM radio band, I'm trying to listen to my favorite music station or in the afternoon I'll listen to NPR. I hear off to one side of the dial some off the wall nonsense about how the world is 6000 years old. Or how the show host who is supposedly straight, know all about them gays. Sometimes I listen just for the entertainment factor of the comments, WOW just wow! Well, I guess I puked away enough and I know I should blog more than I do. My plan is to post at least one time a week minimum.

  1. It is great to hear from you, do let us know what is happening more often. Maybe blogging can be your escape from the small town. I am so glad I managed to escape the small town.

    1. Ur Spo, Sorry to be remiss in not posting more on blogger, maybe you're correct. Blogging is a great form of therapy. And my woes are not as bad as I make them out to be. The way I see it, there is someone that is worse off than me.

  3. Randy,
I too have stopped by regularly until about two months ago to see if you were posting. I'm glad you're back.
Here's the key to posting regularly, just push yourself and write as you think. Your posting doesn't have to be a term paper or a clever treatise like Dr Spo's (which only he can do so don't even try). Every body likes you and eventually you will find that "special" friend. Just remember, you know what happened to me through my blog. For all my life I was looking for a "Pat" and I found him! Or to me more accurately, he found me.
Randy, blog regularly and you will expand your world from the narrow confines of Nebraska. Again, look at me. I moved to southern Delaware where there is a large gay population thinking I could make friends easier. Hasn't happened. The one friend I had was Wayne and that was a contentious relationship.

You write well Randy and people like you. I hope you blog more frequently.

  4. Another comment Randy. Your life in Nebraska is very unique. You live in the heart of a red state. You live in the midst of the deepest homophobia in the United States, much of it enabled by evangelical Christians who just don't understand gay men and women. Your perspective on living in Nebraska, looking for love is a unique and wonderful premise for a blog. Open up Randy and post about your life. I know I for one am very interested.

    1. Hi Ron, Thanks for the two replies to my post. I hope my friend from work will be receptive to being a little bit more than just friends. I'll keep you updated.
